A New Way To Make Beautiful Kraft Paper Pouch

The importance of the printing quality on kraft paper bags lies in its visual impact and branding effectiveness. 

High-quality printing enhances the overall aesthetics of the bag, contributing to a positive perception of the product and brand. Clear and vibrant prints on kraft paper bags not only attract attention but also serve as a powerful means of communication, conveying essential information, brand identity, and marketing messages to consumers. 

The printing quality directly influences the bag’s appeal on the retail shelf, impacting purchasing decisions and reinforcing brand recognition. Therefore, achieving an impressive printing effect on kraft paper bags is crucial for creating a visually appealing and memorable packaging solution in the competitive market.

Three common printing methods on kraft paper pouches

There are three common ways to print on the kraft paper pouch in flexibale packaging manufacturing:

1. Flexo Printing: Flexographic printing, often referred to as flexo printing, is a popular and versatile printing method used in the packaging industry.

Flexo printing works well on kraft paper due to its ability to handle a range of substrates, including absorbent materials like paper. Kraft paper’s porous nature allows it to accept ink effectively, resulting in clear and vibrant prints.

While flexographic printing on kraft paper offers various advantages, there are also some potential weaknesses or limitations associated with this printing method:

Limited Image Resolution: Flexo printing may have limitations in achieving extremely high image resolutions compared to other printing methods like offset or digital printing. Fine details and intricate designs might not be reproduced as sharply.

Ink Odor and Migration: Depending on the type of ink used, flexographic printing may produce odors, and there could be concerns about ink migration into the paper substrate. This is particularly relevant in the food packaging industry, where strict regulations on ink safety apply.

Print Consistency: Achieving consistent print quality across large print runs can sometimes be a challenge. Factors like variations in ink viscosity, substrate absorption, and plate wear can impact print consistency.

Cost of Plate Production: While flexo printing is cost-effective for large print runs, the initial cost of producing printing plates can be relatively high. This cost is spread out over the production volume, making it more economical for large-scale jobs.

High MOQ: Flexo printing normally need up tp 100k or even more pieces MOQ.

2. Digital Pringting: With the advent of digital printing press, making bags becomes easier since it is no need any plates, and could printing on large range of materials base, specially on kraft paper. It can acheive a high resolution and high-quality printing on kraft surface with a small MOQ and fast printing time. While during the production of kraft paper pouch, we also meet some challenges by digital printing.

Colors Changing on seal area: Since the digital ink could not bear high temperature, when making the kraft paper bags , the seal area specially on grip and bottom gusset area, the ink color could change when shapping the bags. These area may looks burned, specially with dark colors design. And some customers may not accept this.

High Price: As we know, the digital printing price is higher than flexo or gravure printing, it is suitable for small or medium order size. 

 

3. Gravure Printing: This is a widly choice in flexible packaging for big amount order with good price. It can print up to 11 colors, which is more than flexo printing. While it is also have shortage when printing on surface of kraft paper.

Poor alignment：Unlike the inside printing on plastic film, printing on kraft paper by gravure printing will have a low alignment , especially when there are many colors.

Spots: Since the kraft paper surface is not smooth, there are many blank spots after printing, specially where there is large area of spot color. 

High MOQ: The MOQ of gravure printing is also a little high, specially for kraft paper pouch.

 

CTP - a new way to make nice kraft paper pouch

So, to solve above problems,  and help you to get more orders on compostable pouch, or other standard kraft paper bag, which no need add MOPP on surface, now, we can make very beautiful kraft paper by our CTP (Computer to Plates) printing, it has below adventages,

 

  1. No need plate cost.
  1. MOQ is only 3000pcs. (we can make even 1000pcs case by case)    It is suitable for midum order size  like 3000, 5000, 10k, 20kpcs.
  1. Printing is very nice, even better than digital printing. 
  1. Seal area will not burn.
  1. Price will be cheaper than digital printing.
  1. we can make different strucure, such as compostable material: Kraft paper/PLA., Kraft paper /VMPLA/PLA, Kraft paper/NK/PLA ( you can add window). 

    Standard material: Kraft paper/PE, Kraft paper/VMPET/PE, Kraft paper/AL/PE, Kraft paper/PET/PE. 

 

  1. We can also make different types of pouch, such as stand up zipper  pouch, flat bottom pouch, flat pouch.
